- INTRODUCTION
This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains how cancellations, refunds, and related requests are handled for services purchased or arranged through Freelance Market Shop.
Freelance Market Shop is a business operated by 9368-8232 Quebec ESA INC., a company incorporated in Quebec, Canada, with operations in El Salvador.
Because our services are generally customized to the needs of each Client, cancellation and refund terms may vary depending on the nature of the Project, the stage of work, and the specific terms included in the applicable Quote, proposal, invoice, or Project agreement.
This Policy should be read together with our Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, and any specific terms provided for an individual Project.
Nothing in this Policy limits any cancellation, refund, or other rights that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.
- QUOTE-BASED SERVICES
Freelance Market Shop generally provides Services on a quote-based basis.
Before a Project begins, the Client may receive a Quote or proposal describing applicable Services, scope, deliverables, fees, timelines, payment requirements, and other relevant conditions.
The Client should review the applicable Quote and Project terms carefully before approving the Project.
Where the specific Project terms contain cancellation or refund provisions that differ from this general Policy, those Project-specific terms may apply to the extent permitted by applicable law.
- CANCELLATION BEFORE A PROJECT BEGINS
If a client wishes to cancel a Project before work has started, the client should contact Freelance Market Shop as soon as possible using the contact information provided on the Website.
If no work has begun and no non-refundable expense or commitment has been incurred, the client may generally be eligible for a full refund of amounts paid, subject to:
- The applicable Quote or Project agreement
- Any applicable legal requirements
- Any third-party costs already incurred on behalf of the Client
- Any other conditions communicated before the Project was approved
If work has already begun, Section 4 may apply.
- CANCELLATION AFTER WORK HAS BEGUN
Once a Project has started, the amount eligible for refund may depend on the work already completed and the specific terms of the Project.
Depending on the circumstances, amounts already paid may be applied toward:
- Work already completed
- Deliverables already provided
- Approved third-party expenses
- Non-cancellable services or commitments incurred for the Project
- Other amounts expressly identified in the applicable Project terms
Any remaining refundable balance, if applicable, will be determined based on the applicable Quote, Project agreement, this Policy, and applicable law.
Clients should submit cancellation requests as soon as possible to minimize additional Project work or expenses.
- CHANGES TO PROJECT SCOPE
A Client may request changes to the scope of a Project after approval.
Changes may affect:
- Project fees
- Deliverables
- Timeline
- Required expertise
- Number of professionals involved
- Project requirements
Where a requested change materially affects the Project, Freelance Market Shop may provide a revised Quote or additional terms for approval before proceeding with the additional work.
A change in scope does not automatically create a right to a refund for work already completed.
- CLIENT-REQUESTED PAUSES
In some circumstances, a client may request that a Project be temporarily paused.
Whether a Project can be paused will depend on:
- The nature of the Project
- The stage of completion
- Freelancer or service-provider availability
- Third-party commitments
- The applicable Project terms
- The expected duration of the pause
A pause may affect the original Project timeline and may require a revised schedule or other Project terms.
- REFUNDS FOR INCOMPLETE OR UNDELIVERED SERVICES
If Freelance Market Shop does not provide a material portion of an agreed Service or Project deliverable, the Client should contact us promptly so that the matter can be reviewed.
Depending on the circumstances, we may:
- Complete or correct the applicable work
- Adjust the Project scope
- Provide a credit
- Issue a partial refund
- Issue another appropriate remedy
The appropriate resolution will depend on the specific circumstances, the applicable Project terms, and applicable law.
- SERVICE QUALITY CONCERNS
If you are dissatisfied with a Service or deliverable, please contact us as soon as possible and explain the issue.
Where appropriate, we may first seek to resolve the issue by:
- Reviewing the original Project requirements
- Identifying the specific concern
- Determining whether the issue falls within the agreed scope
- Requesting clarification or additional information
- Providing a reasonable correction or adjustment where applicable
Requests relating to work that falls outside the agreed scope may be treated as a new request or scope change.
- REFUNDS FOR FREELANCER-RELATED PROJECTS
Some Projects may involve freelance professionals from the Freelance Market Shop network.
If a Project involves a Freelancer and a concern arises regarding availability, performance, deliverables, communication, or another aspect of the engagement, the Client should contact Freelance Market Shop rather than making assumptions about the applicable refund.
We may review the circumstances and determine appropriate next steps based on:
- The agreed Project scope
- Work completed
- Deliverables provided
- Project timeline
- Communications between the parties
- Applicable Project terms
- Any other relevant circumstances
Participation in the Freelance Market Shop network does not by itself create a guarantee of a particular business result or Project outcome.
- THIRD-PARTY COSTS
Some Projects may require third-party services, licenses, subscriptions, advertising spend, software, hosting, media purchases, production expenses, or other external costs.
Where such costs are approved by the Client and incurred for the Project, they may be non-refundable depending on the applicable third party’s terms.
Any known third-party costs should be communicated to the Client as part of the applicable Quote or Project documentation were reasonably possible.
- NON-REFUNDABLE ITEMS
Unless otherwise stated in the applicable Project terms or required by applicable law, certain amounts may not be refundable once the related work, service, expense, or commitment has been incurred.
Examples may include:
- Work already completed
- Deliverables already provided
- Approved third-party purchases
- Third-party services that cannot be cancelled
- Custom work specifically created for the Client
- Other costs expressly identified as non-refundable before approval
Any non-refundable condition should be communicated to the Client before the relevant payment or Project commitment is made, where required by applicable law.
- LEGALLY REQUIRED REFUNDS AND CANCELLATION RIGHTS
Nothing in this Policy is intended to remove, restrict, or waive any statutory cancellation, refund, consumer protection, or other rights that apply to a client under mandatory applicable law.
For example, certain contracts entered online or at a distance may be subject to specific requirements under Quebec consumer protection legislation, including rules concerning contract information, cancellation rights, and refunds in particular circumstances.
Where mandatory law provides a client with a cancellation or refund right that differs from this Policy, the applicable legal requirement will prevail.

- A material breach of the applicable agreement
- Failure to provide required information or cooperation
- Failure to satisfy payment requirements
- Fraudulent or unlawful activity
- Circumstances that make the Project impractical or unlawful to continue
- Other circumstances specified in the applicable Project terms
Where a Project is terminated by Freelance Market Shop, any refund or outstanding payment obligations will be determined based on the applicable Project terms, the work completed, expenses incurred, and applicable law.
- PROJECT DELAYS AND CLIENT-CAUSED DELAYS
Project timelines may be affected by circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Examples may include:
- Delayed Client feedback
- Missing information or materials
- Delayed approvals
- Changes in requirements
- Delayed access to systems or accounts
- Third-party platform issues
- Technical problems
- Unavailability of required resources
A delay does not automatically create a right to a refund.
Where a significant delay occurs, Freelance Market Shop may communicate an updated timeline or recommend adjustments to the Project.
- NO AUTOMATIC REFUND FOR CHANGE OF MIND
Because many Freelance Market Shop Projects involve customized Services and resources allocated specifically to a client, a change of mind does not automatically create a right to a refund beyond any rights provided by applicable law or the applicable Project terms.
Clients should review the Quote, Project scope, payment requirements, and cancellation terms before approving a Project.

- CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Refund & Cancellation Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our Services, business practices, payment processes, or legal requirements.
When we make material changes, we may update the “Last Updated” date and provide additional notice where appropriate or required by law.
